Waiting and waiting.....when will it start?!?! Vi Waiting and waiting.....when will it start?!?!

Video description: the goats are overdue in their pregnancy and Lauren has been waiting not so patiently, having decided to encourage the mothering instincts of her herd she has donned a silly hat that has floppy ears and small horns, brought in two finger puppets that are from the three billy goats gruff stories. Each goat turns away, two knock the finger puppets to the ground. We see a clip of Floss a white goat with a fabulous fringing of hair along her spine, who's been showing promising signs that today may be the day. Lauren waits and watches her girls, her hat gets stolen. Last image is of a gestation timetable.

We've put some giant bales into the goats to keep We've put some giant bales into the goats to keep them super happy on the close lead up to kidding, expecting it to get busy very soon! Most of the girls have been using the bales as their beds, who wouldn't as it smells lush, it's soft and the food is right in front of your nose?! A select few have been using them as launch pads! I've also got a friendly hen/parrot who keeps using me as her perch, she missed yesterday and flew at me catching me on the nose with her wing!

Are you ready to be bombarded with Goat kid videos? Not long now! The March goats walks have been booking up quickly, still some dates availble if your wanting to get your snuggles with the mini rascals ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐ŸŒพ

Bear with me I'm giving this a go and any advice would be great! A recent visit from the delighful @beckys.blurred.perspective helped me ro realise how simple it can be to just go that step further.

Video description: close up with Frazzle a grey goat with white nose stripes who has some hay artfully draped over her horns, Frazzle is chewing the cud, appearing to be quite happy standing in the sunshine. Two grey goats are being naughty standing up high on the large round bale thats in the corner of the metal sheeted barn, the goat on the right jumps off with a skipping leap towards the camera. In the hen house Lauren has a hen settled on her shoulder as she tries to convince it to kindly toddle off and go eat some food, it flaps a little and thinks about its choices, decides its happy where it is, thank you. Back in the barns we look through from one giant hay bale the door to another, surrounded by very greedy goats. Finally we see a picture of our cheeky tabby kitten caught mid meow balancing on a old fence post in the sunshine.

For those trying to book Goat Walking Experiances you will see a period of time blocked out as we have to give our girls all of our attention during this period, but book in after and I'm sure you can twist my arm to meet a few of the new bundles!

Today we've towed her round to the yard and pushed her into place. Having given her a wash we can see what we are working with now the moss has gone!
The smile that just sitting in the drivers seat brought to my face was huge I haven't driven her myself since 2017!
Here's hoping that during the rebuild she's still the corker that she was, can't wait to be driving our little Series 2a Land Rover again!

We would like to say a HUGE thank you as we have been incredibly lucky this year with the villages support to be able to plant 20 gorgeous Scott's Pine AND donate ยฃ38.00 towards the brilliant @northantssar
Here at Ganders Goat we really do pride ourselves with working alongside nature and supporting our local environment. Hopefully it will continue for many many years.
This is the earliest I have had to make any ice cr This is the earliest I have had to make any ice cream ever! Thank you.
Today I had to get some extra pots made for the ice cream deliveries next week I thought I'd give a couple of extra flavours a try whilst the machines were on anyway! They are limited to around 20 pots of each there is a dark chocolate straccaitella actually called "stracc...ah shucks I couldn't spell it"๐Ÿ˜‚ and a latte with chocolate swirl.
The most amazing thing is was all made with solar power from start to finish! Now to gobble the half pots I have left.....yummmmmmm
Moving day! Each week our Ganders Goats get moved Moving day! Each week our Ganders Goats get moved onto a new strip of field. We do this because it keeps our goats happy, healthy and enriched. By popping them onto a new stretch of field we don't need to use medicines to combat worms and parasites as they are organically keeping them at bay!

You will only be able to use this very special service if you live in Cottingham or Middleton, space is limited. This year we are going to ask for a small donation BUT we are using this to buy NEW trees which will be planted on the slopes of the valley for all to see! Any spare money left over will be donated to @northantssar who Ian and @searchdogted volunteer thier spare time with.

This stunning first tree was donated by @cottinghamcofe and the Goats are very very happy to help! ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฅฐ
We have been asked a few times this week "are the We have been asked a few times this week "are the goats OK with the cold weather?"
They don't mind it, they fluff themselves up a bit more, but they also have a heated bed!
This morning the ground temperature here was -9ยฐC and air temperature -6ยฐC! The bedding in the open sided barns +12.6ยฐC.
We do something called deep littering, effectively adding a fresh layer of bedding and leaving the old bedding to compost, the composting bacteria generate heat warming the barns with underfloor heating!
