Diversity

Here at ganders farm we wish to be as creature friendly as we can so manage the farm carefully and sensitively for the wildlife that lives there, this has given us aย diverse and surprising mix of wildlife. We have long strips of diverse hedge rows with Sloes and Brambles to Ash and Oak trees, we leave patches of tall grass and nettles with at least one of our paddocks being left completely alone throughout the nesting season for ground birds these paddocks are then used for hay cut around June time, A small number of dry stone walls still exist on the farm and we are hoping to restore some of the dilapidated walls over the coming years, a stream bed runs down one side of the farm to. All this providesย plentiful habitats, nesting spots and food allowing for a huge spectrum of critters, bugs and beasties to roam our land. Hereโ€™s just a short list of some of the species that have been spotted on the farm, it is a list thatย ย is getting longer all the time!
